ABOUT NITROGEN
Nitrogen is the most abundant element in our atmosphere. Nitrogen is a primary nutrient for all green plants, but it must be modified before it can be readily utilized by most living systems. Nitrogen fixation is a complex process, which is carried out by nitrogen fixing bacteria present in the soil.
HOW AZOTOBACTER WORKS
The Azotobacter is a free living nitrogen fixer in the soil for all non –leguminous crops. This microorganism fixes the atmospheric nitrogen and makes it available to plants in asymbiotic manner. It is also known to synthesized biologically active substances such as B-vitamins, IAA and gibberellins in pure cultures. The bacterium induces hormones that help plants in better germination, early emergence, better root development and vegetative growth.
